The bathroom is my next victim

May 14, 2008

Mostly because I can redo the whole thing in a few hours 😀

It’s frustrating to try to shop for colors online as you know that what you see is almost nothing like what it looks like in person.

What I really want to do is match the wall color to my sofa.  It’s such a nice blue shade of gray.  I pulled up the Behr colors online that looked nice (but not necessarily close), and added the sofa color.  I am definitely going to keep with the same white trim and dark gray baseboards.

Please tell me what you think:  will gray be too weird of a color for a bathroom and should I err on the side of lighter, rather than darker?  I am feeling quite brave and am loving “darker”.

I will be re-staining the bathroom cabinets darker – I’m thinking dark walnut because they’re real wood and think it’s less drastic than the black-brown of the rest of my furniture.  Trying to think of future tenants, too 😉 I will also be painting my étagère gloss white, same as the trim.  Possibly the medicine cabinet as well.  Lots of shiny sparkly white to balance the dark of the vanity and (possibly) the wall color.  Towels will be white and accessories will be shiny silver.  Oooh, shiny things! 😀

(I’m thinking that the two top grays are looking a lot more brown than they do in person…)
