Countdown to multiple Children in my home

June 2, 2008

** Cleansing breath **

Next Saturday night, if all goes well, there will be FOUR children in our little house.  The one that lives there already takes up enough room… 😦

In order for me to enjoy myself and not panick to let their parents in for the cursory “is this place safe?” tour I need to seriously get off my ass and get some stuff done.

Thankfully “paint the bathroom” is not one of the prerequisites.  Actually unless I can get it done tonight there may be lingering paint fumes that would be bad… 😀

  1. Charity pile – needs to GO! (scheduled pickup for Friday morning)
  2. Kitchen cleaned – I can’t remember the last time there was clean silverware in the drawer – although all the dishes have been clean 99% of the time (hellllloooo stupid point of procrastination!)
  3. Paint supplies relocated – the end of the kitchen has become a mess with the painting supplies being an excuse for “I’ll just put it on the pile… this old couch cushion is a ‘painting supply’ right?”
  4. Grocery shopping – I need to feed the little ankle-biters, don’t I?
  5. Laundry – curses!
  6. The Child needs to make a path so that her bedroom door will at least open fully, even though I am going to encourage the chitlins to stay in the livingroom ONLY.
  7. Unplug the shredder under the desk.  I see bad things coming from that.

Basically, I need to lose all acquaintance with my lazy ass this week.  I am going to be tired and crabby come next Monday – especially since next Sunday means getting the terrorists out of the house, get to church, go to the YMCA dance recital cast party, and THEN take Scottish Dance class.

Today I WILL take my new memory foam mattress home.  I will I will I will.  Yeah, right.

Evening calls to make sure I am not sitting on my keyster are greatly appreciated!!  Just keep em short because I’m supposed to be, you know, WORKING.

(*Sigh* sometimes I amaze myself with my natural mothering inclination…   NOT)
