Katelyn, if you’re reading this…
June 4, 2008… You have some thing(s) that I want. Care to wheel and deal?
Backstory:
When I was in 2nd grade, Sandi passed along to me the bedroom set that was hers since she was a teen-ager (she was young so it wasn’t that old 😛 ) It was white with gold trim, kind of French Provincial done the 70s way. Sooooo girly! Queen bed, dresser, mirror and night table. When Dad and Sandi bought a house, she bought me the matching desk. Talk about staying power! The same set was still being sold (Monkey Wards, if I remember correctly!)
I moved out and eventually my darling little sis Katelyn came along and she became girl #3 to have this uber girly-girl set. I guess at some point the bed met its maker, but the other pieces still live on.
So, Katelyn, if you’re reading this I want some (nightstand, mirror?), if not all of it! Wait, I don’t think I have room for the desk – I’d have to measure.
Oh boy, do I have ideas! The ideas I have!! They will rendezvous with paint, much paint. These pieces will get a new Hollywood Regency revival vibe. They will sparkle and shine with new-found fabulosity!
Of course I expect to kit you out with replacements that match your current aesthetic. After all, you are moving in to your first place and you want it to truly KICK SOME ASS, right? Time to toss aside the furniture of your childhood and embrace your new adult-ness, right? Really, if you think about it, I’m doing you a favor. 😀
Don’t make me beg. I will. But it’s totally not attractive.
