Tea, with a side of STFU

August 28, 2008

Update on The Child’s response to off-colour (I’m feeling British today) remarks…

“So, Haley, what did you say to those boys?”

“Nothing.  I just did this (shook finger and made a face) then I did my homework.”

Two words:  anticlimactic.  I guess that’s one word.  A compound word?  Wha?  Huh?

  2. At least she didn’t say to them “You rotten Prick”!!

Actually, Mom, I told her that she mustn’t regurgitate these terms (nor the terms she hears ME lob about in the Casa de Fabulosa) because it would make her difficult to defend her should it get to the point of me having to call the other parents.

I can just hear that phone call now… “Hello, your son asked my daughter if she’d like a teabag.” To which they would retort, “well, so? She called him a dick for brains.”

I don’t think Miss Manners would approve of any of it.

  4. Is that the trickle down theory?? Like mother, like daughter like daughter and so on?? BTW..thought it was “shit for brains” and “dick-head”??? I could be wrong.

  5. I find profanity to be a free-form artistic expression. I say “dick for brains”, you say “dick head” – and we’re both right.

  6. YEP!! When it comes down to it, I think it pretty much gets the point across.
