The cold weather is back and so are soups!

November 19, 2008

Piping hot Udon noodles with baked garlic Hoisin tofu… delish.  I’m kind of proud of my scallion-y flourish 😛 I think tomorrow I’ll try The Noisy Plume’s butternut squash soup.

*Note to self:  buy a tripod.

  1. That would have made me feel so much better today…..soup.

  2. Did you actually make that?! Like, with a recipe?! I can make fancy soups too, you know. Those 20 cent packages of ramen noodles come with a “seasoning packet” that must be added SEPARATELY, which takes CULINARY EXPERTISE.

P.S.- If you guys pick Paris, look for a Buy-2-Get-1-Free airline deal. Or you can just pay for my ticket. Either way, I’M COMING WITH YOU!!! 🙂

  3. Pink – methinks you are surrounded by too many boys 😛

Yes, I made that! The Udon noodles are out of a package, but it was just a matter of veg broth, a bit of Chinese Five Spice, garlic, celery, mung bean sprouts (shush up), and chopped scallions. The tofu is just sliced and pressed between paper towels (I HATE soggy tofu) overnight then baked at 400 for 20 minutes in garlic Hoisin sauce (works super good with BBQ sauce, too!). Other than the bake time it took 5 minutes to make once the water boiled. (DAMMIT I just admitted how easy it was!)

Paris is on the shortlist because shockingly FEW people want to go there with me. The child – she’s still full of youthful naivete!
